- The self expression series takes a totally different approach to the meaning of self portraits. Throughout mankind's history, many artists have done self portraits. Self portraits included body mutilation like Van Gogh and adorning oneself with extravagant costumes. But to this day, no artist has done a self portrait of the inside of his own organs. BZ scatters that boundary and creates portraits of his eye, brain, heart, ribs, spine and even sperm, eventually portraying himself on a cellular level. Through these self portraits, BZ expresses his ideals of living, life, and political views.
